Soundslave is a brand new name in the tribute band scene. Though, in this case, ‘new’ does not equal ‘inexperienced’. All members of this four-piece band, founded in mid 2022 in Pelt (Belgium), have independently played hundreds of gigs, in numerous lineups. Experience, however, is not the only thing that connects Geert, Wim, Wout and Dries: as children of the 90’s, they share a great love for the repertoire of grunge icon Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog). So, a tribute was inevitable.
At first, people were rather suspicious of the band’s attempt to approach Chris Cornell, who, by definition, is unrivaled. But after hearing a few live recordings, in early 2023, their skepticism turned into enthusiasm.
Today, Soundslave are ready to hit the (big) stages. With honest and energetic interpretations of killer songs such as Black Hole Sun, Spoonman, Cochise and Hunger Strike. An ultimate homage to the work of one of the best rock singers ever: Chris Cornell.
